Dzongri Trek

The Dzongri Trek is one of the more remote and spectacular treks in India. The entire trail goes through forests of rhododendron, pine, oak and chestnut trees, offering numerous birding opportunities and not to mention the stunning vistas of some of the highest mountains in the world.

The trek starts from a sleepy hamlet in west Sikkim called Yuksom. Bakkhim and Tshoka are two tiny villages that one comes across on this route. This trek is especially suitable for trekkers who want to explore more in a shorter period. Dzongri La (viewpoint) in Dzongri is the best viewpoint in the entire Sikkim Himalayas.
