Sham Valley Trek
Trek Overview
Also known as the Apricot Valley, Sham Valley is located in one of the lower heights of Ladakh. This easy trek offers a fabulous experience of walking through landscapes completely different from the Himalayan trails in Himachal or Uttarakhand. Surrounded by stark terrain and gorgeous mountain ranges, the trek gives a feel of walking on the moon. A visit to Alchi Monastery, famous for its artwork, architecture, old paintings, and huge Buddha statues is an experience worth cherishing. You will also pass through quiet Ladakhi hamlets and witness the charming pace of village life. The trek is accessible even during winters and offers a wonderful introduction to trekking in Ladakh.
