Trek Overview

This trek in Uttarakhand offers a wonderful blend of thrill, exploration and fun and is perfect fit for first time trekkers as those who have done a few easy treks. The trail is extremely scenic and the view from the summit is simply spectacular. The rewards are, awesome views of some of the mighty Himalayan peaks from Swargarohini to Black Peak, Bandar ki Poonch in the Gangotri and Yamunotri ranges to Har- Ki-Doon and glimpses of the Kinnaur Ranges of Himachal Pradesh! Kedarkantha also has interesting mythology associated with it. The mythology is that Kedarkantha was where Lord Shiva used to meditate before moving to Kedarnath. The beautiful Juda Ka Talab is where the water droplets fallen from Lord Shiva's hair had turned into this small pond. The trek offers view of the revered and sacred Swargarohini peak which translates to Stairway to Heaven and is the same peak where the Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pandavas along with his dog reached heaven from this godly peak.
